eBay This Christmas tree topper was made by GE, and sold under their brand “Merry Midgets”. It is a curved heavy Lucite bowl with striations so that it looks like a halo, with a small thin celluloid angel in the middle. It has a hole in back where you can put one of the tree lights – C6 or smaller. It has a heavy wire coil on the back so that it can fit down on the top branch of your tree. It measures 8 3/4″ across, and is in excellent vintage condition. There is a tiny break on one side to the celluloid angel, about 1/4″, that really isn’t visible. This particular topper is quite scarce, and quite desired by collectors. It dates to the 1950’s. It sold originally without a light – it was just meant to be used with your tree lights. This same piece was, I think, also made with a Santa. The little angel is made from a thin, brittle celluloid. I have lots of vintage Christmas pieces for sale, so take a peek! JONESANTIQUES!
